RE/MAX Cayman Islands Celebrates 15th Anniversary of Breast Cancer Foundation

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the Breast Cancer Foundation and to promote breast cancer awareness month, RE/MAX Cayman Islands has turned its website, remax.ky, pink for the month of October.

Inspired by co-founder Kim Lund’s late wife Brenda, the Breast Cancer Foundation lies at the heart of the charitable endeavors at RE/MAX Cayman Islands with Kim Lund and James Bovell as founding members and current board members of the foundation.

“When we established the Breast Cancer Foundation 15 years ago, our goal was to continue the work started by my late wife, Brenda,” added Kim Lund, Broker/Owner at RE/MAX Cayman Islands. “It began by driving awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection but has grown to include a wellness program, providing financial assistance for breast cancer patients, providing local practitioners with training in specialized areas related to breast cancer treatment, to cold cap therapy and so much more.”

“Breast cancer is almost always curable if detected early, which is why breast cancer awareness month exists to spread awareness around early detection,” added James Bovell, Broker/Owner at RE/MAX Cayman Islands. “It has been an honor for RE/MAX to be a part of the foundation since day one and to see how it has grown, expanded and helped hundreds of breast cancer patients and their families in the Cayman Islands.”

“The Breast Cancer Foundation is incredibly grateful to the RE/MAX team who are year-round sponsors of the Foundation. Simply put, we couldn’t do all that we do, completely free of charge for the community, without this support,” added Beverly Edgington, Chief Administrator of the Breast Cancer Gala. “It is not just financial, they support us by encouraging everyone to “think pink” all year round, promoting our programs and encouraging everyone to get involved.”

All funds raised by the Breast Cancer Foundation are used to help local residents in the Cayman Islands with breast cancer.
